ENERGY CITY QATAR

The ECQ site has been divided into 92 plots of land ranging from 2627 sq m to 25,067 sq m. The vast majority of the plots have planning consent for corporate offices premises. All buildings have to adhere to the building guidelines defined by ECQ. The structures will be constructed to the highest standards complying with the US Green Building Council LEED Certification requirements for energy efficiency.

All these buildings, once completed, will be targeted for tenants in the energy industry including but not limited to oil and gas companies, and oil and gas support service companies. These tenants will have access to the state of the art technologies, data centre technology, internationally acclaimed management services, intelligent traffic and parking management systems, high technology safety and security systems and other services provided by the city management.

As can be seen from the plan, the overall design of ECQ is that of a spiral composition with the intention of creating a “ sculptural, seamless whole based on fractal geometry of organized chaos: it embodies an evolution from one centre to infinity and endless opportunities” (Energy City Qatar Master Plan 28/9/2006)
